[Class1Rankings]

Here are the 1st set of rankings, based on the info that has been provided. If there is a reason that anyone can find why one kid should be ranked over another, or if I've made a glaring mistake, please post that on this thread. Just like last year, I will make any necessary corrections for 1 day after this has been posted. The next set of rankings should be out after the 1st tournament in January. No negative comments please.

Another one that's tough to rank. I only have Clark's results, I have not seen him wrestle. I do know that Walker is danm tough, too.

Unless Walker suffers a loss before Jan 27 the two will hopefully meet in the finals @ Buffalo to figure that out. James is off to a great start this season and I believe all his win are by fall. Always good to see two quality wrestlers go head to head.

at 119 i don't think carmichael should be #1 nothing against him but he got 2nd in the b pool at the marceline tourn. maybe kellerstrass would be a better #1

130 i think lindsay will prove to be the best wrestler in this weight class.

125 watch out for cordray from marceline and orr from brookfield both could go as high as #2.

135 and 145 look like pretty strong weight-classes to me

yeah i noticed what weight carmichael was at during the marceline tourn. but a kid ranked first in state at 119 shouldn't get beat by marceline's jv 125 pounder. all i'm saying is that 3rd or 4th would be where i'd rank him. the kid from maryville looked pretty good at the trenton tourny he beat paahlar by more than carmichael beat him by and kellerstrass beat the kid from maryville in the finals.

nothing against carmichael i just think kellerstrass is the best wrestler at 119 in class 1 right now. if carmichael beats him later on in the year i'd change my mind but i think kellerstrass would have walked through the 125lb "b" pool at marceline.

i also don't think scharf would stay with in 5 points of lindsay at 130. lindsay will be a multi-year state champ and it might start this year.

I have no clue what the wrestler's records are right now, I'm just happy to get some results. Sure, level of competition is taken into account. If any class 1 wrestler beats Mac Bailey, he'll be ranked #1. Beating the #2 guy in class 1 isn't enough to be ranked #1 yet. Shoemaker is a solid #2 right now. LePlant is undefeated so far (or at least as far as I can tell) and is a returning 4th place finisher at state. It's all good.

Yes, Marty Uehlin. Very tough. However, I don't rank class 2 schools in the class 1 rankings

I don't know where all these kids will end up but I will say this. Hovis, Clark, Cordray all look pretty tough for freshman. Barron deserves the number one ranking but he better not take any of these boys lightly. Anyone of them are capable of going all the way and he'll see at least one of them maybe two in February.

He has only lost 1 match to a JV wrestler but killed Austin Paahlar who beat that JV wrestler in the wrestle off..Carmical had a bad day and if there was a rematch of Carmical and that JV wrestler, Carmical would kill him..

Doesn't work that way. Stoll is a returning 3rd place state finisher and has yet to lose, and Scharf is a 2x state placer who's seen some of the toughest competition of any class 1 wrestler. They're #1 & #2, and are deserving of it. Lindsey's fine where he is.

You need to relax, Junior. If these Brookfield kids are as good as you think they are, they'll move up in the rankings. If not, they won't.

Saying a kid shouldn't be ranked 1st but should be ranked 3rd or 4th isn't really talking about how bad a wrestler the kid is it's just saying he's over-rated. I just heard Glasgow didn't make grades; this would hurt your team alot but i also just heard swift is moving back to brookfield from oak grove and he will be eligiable to wrestle 2nd semester. You say Orr should be ranked atleast 2nd at 125 but he has already lost to Cordray(i know he has also beat Cordray) and got beat by barron pretty bad where as Cordray lost 9-6 to Barron at the marceline tournament. Evans would be in alot of trouble if state was this week-end; he's a good wrestler but the three wrestlers ahead of him deserve to be ahead of him. And as far as the only reason Carmichael lost was because he had a bad day; I think thats what everybody is trying to say is Kellerstrass wouldn't have lost to the kid even on a bad day in fact Paahlar wouldn't have lost to the kid even on a bad day. Carmichael just doesn't belong at #1.

Walker had a pre-existing injury that was aggrevated before wrestling Jones, matter of fact they never wrestled just an injury default, Walker should I would guess be fine after a little time off.

One is a Freshman and weighs in at 365.
The second is a Sophomore weighing in at 320.

I am being serious. I have the two kids mentioned. One wants to become a police office after school and understands he needs to lose some weight. He was a manager last season and has been working hard at trying to drop the weight. His immediate goal is to get to 285 this season and be able to wrestle a varsity match. While the other kid understands he will not be able to wrestle this season, he is trying to get down to about 300 to help out the football team next season. He still has a long way to go but at least he is trying to improve his life.

I think that it is great that the kids want to lose weight. I was referring to the above high school graduates (?) looking for some super fat heavy weight love because they traded in their singlets for elastic waist band Dockers and Velcro tennis shoes.
I just don't think that heavyweight division gets enough credit as it is and for others to make light of a group of immensely talented individuals really upsets me.

OK Brookfield...you just make people not want to root for you. Wrestling fans could be happy for a team that seems to be headed for a good year, I mean you haven't exactly been awesome. The last time I looked at this board we were giving credit to a couple of student athletes that were looking to better themselves. That is awesome.
