I am in the military and have earned my teaching certification while I've been in. I'm due to get out soon. I've coached little league for 10 years and am looking to coach HS. Any coaches out there have any advice? Should I shoot for an assistant job?

Thanks in advance.

I know Rogersville will be starting a program next year and they will be looking for a head and assistant coach. They are located about ten minutes from Springfield and they compete in the Central Ozark Conference with Bolivar, Branson, Buffalo, Marshfield, Nixa, Ozark, Reeds Spring, Republic, Willard and with the addition of Rogersville it will complete the conference and all of the schools in the conference will now have wrestling. I am not sure if they will compete in class two or three. I know that Bolivar, Buffalo, Marshfield, Reeds Spring and Republic are class two and Branson, Nixa, Ozark and Willard are class three.

Talk about timing with re-classification due next year, it could make things a little more interesting.

I've also heard something coming down with the weight classes next year. Is there something new going to happen with the weight classes?

Nothing is final and they are still trying to iron out the details but from what I have read is that a wrestler must have a certain amount of body fat to wrestle at a certain weight and they can only drop a certain percentage of body weight in a given week. Thats about all I have heard, I hope thats helpful.
