Will never, never, never, never, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever happen........

I think the last time this went to the Congress, it was voted down 400 +/- to 2.......

I heard this over the weekend as well. Soon to be another Vietnam. If you ask someone to fight in this war who doesn't believe in it, some will cause some major problems. We aren't talking about the youth of the late '60s here either. Things have changed, dare I say...spoiled.

I agree with the Gentleman from District of Fudge.

It will never happen! However, I am mixed about this issue. One side of me wants everyone to serve. However, I joined when their were a lot of military members that were draft and remained in. I remember them telling how bad it was. The all volunteer army has proven when compared to other countries that have the draft, that the volunteer army is more professional, trained and educated than any other in the world!

A selective draft is a horrible way to build an army. Either keep it entirely voluntary or make it mandatory for ALL 18 year olds to serve 2 years prior to commencing with post-graduation plans. I think Israel does something like this. Yes I know that that would be a nightmare and we are not set up for it. Just my opinion.

Israel also requires the reserve forces to be on active duty 4 weeks a year. Not Training....I'm talking walking the streets.........

males serve 3yrs and females 2yrs but if we were surrounded by people thats sole purpose was our destuction we would need to do the same. They have issues as well because the orthodox don't serve and some resent that. Rangel wants people against the war more than he wants the draft and figures this would be a means to the end. Totally politicaly motivated.
