I read that you either have to be invited to have an account by an existing Gmail user or somehow link Gmail to your mobile phone. I'll take the wait and see approach on this. It may become something standard to all email services in the near future - who knows.

just checked it out by clicking 'more' on Google.com

You either must have a cell ph. that they will send an invitation code to or you have to know someone with a gmail acct that can send you an invitation code.

It's their way of curbing spammers.

I don't know.
I don't think so, because once you have your email address they aren't going to be billing anything to your cell ph. ...could they? :oops: naaaah. :roll:
