I need some tips on how to lose weight. It seems what ever I do I can't lose it. I need to get to 215 for next season and I weigh about 250.

Whatever you do, don't listen to a poster on here by the name of Denmom.
She'll fill you full of bs on how she loses weight and is only 25. When in reality she's around 240 and 74 years old.

Do you have any tips because any help I can get would be great.
Not for everyone, but I've not met anyone 250 that doesn't have a few extra pounds on them, so here is my advise. Don't take the bus to school. Run! You won't even need plastics. Start now and you might be able to go 189. Dis-regard this advise if you are over 7 ft. tall.

Count your Calories and Carbs.. keep a journal and keep track of everything you eat... start by cutting back on Calories slightly and don't worry about Carbs at first... then, after you get used to it cut Calories even more and start worrying about your carbs... eat healthy and stay away from junk... Lift heavy weights 3X a week for about 1-1.5 hours a day and jog or sprint on your free days

One of the keys is to add muscle. Muscle burns fat that is its purpose so you will find that when you begin to add muscle and change your diet you will begin to lose the unwanted fat (weight). You need to consume at least 5 meals a day averaging about 350-400 calories a meal. You need to get at a minimum 200 grams of protein a day which equals 800 calories which makes up about 45% of your total caloric intake. The remaining portion of your caloric intake should come from complex carbohydrates such as fruits and vegatables. Also it is very important to consume at least 25 grams of fiber a day. Your protein intake should consist of lean meats, eggs, low fat cottage cheese and protein shakes. It is important to consume at least 50 grams of carbs and 35-40 grams of protein within an 1 1/2 following a good workout. I am certified personal trainer with National Academy of Sports Medicine and also have son that is currently pulling to 103 from 119 so I have been very actively involved in this process.

I heard from one of my assistant coaches today (who cut 60 pounds in a season) that he did a diet called "20 in 2". He said that you are supposed to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks. He told me that you eat alot of meat, eggs and fruits. I don't know much about this so if anyone has information on this diet please send me a pm with some information.
Thanks

My advice,,,DONT WORRY about it till you talk to your coach and figure out what the new rules are going to do for you next year. I bet that MANY kids are not going to be able to cut as much as they do now.

that is low carb other than the fruit. The fruit makes it a little more of a South Beach Diet.
