Last year placers in 189# this year:
Wolk 1st in 04 @ 171#
Porter 4th in 04 @ 215# (Meiers was 189# for NW in 04)
Stillman 2nd in 04 @ 189# (Lost Double OT match to Rampley)
Is Ryan Davis from Cape Central back this year? He was very tough as well.
If their dual with Troy doesn't get cancelled for weather tonight, Casey should wrestle Fischer.
This should be a very interesting weight class this year.
Good thread Darth.

You know what's funny is that last night I was having trouble going to sleep so I started thinking about who else would be at the Tiger Classic and I remembered Henry of Seckman. I'll fix it...

Any upsets or predictions?
stillman
12-08-2005, 09:43 AM
FZN HW is Gadesi
FZN 171 should be Thomure, unless something has changed.
My predictions:
FZN should have the opportunity to take first in a few weight classes and should have top six placers in quite a few weight classes.
This is always a fun tournament and one of the better run tournaments we attend.

I just want to correct something, Brian Oeschner wrestles 145, and his brother Brett wrestles 140. Brian has not wrestled 140 this year and from what I know he is not cutting to 140, he will be 145 all year, and brett will be 140

I don't think Oeschner should be ranked beneath Pepper either. Last year I was positive Pepper was going to win in the finals at Cape but Oeschner controlled that match pretty well and Pepper never was in it. It could be different this year but I am more in the mind of thinking that if Brian did that to Jimmy as a freshman, then he's only more likely to do it as a sophmore.

KWH11, what was so controversial about the Yeargain match? Also, in the 160 match the takedown happened with about 15 seconds left and they ran the rest of the time out on the edge. There was a blood injury with just a second or so left...but it was a very good/close match.
I wasn't able to get down there to see any matches on Friday, but saw most of the Saturday matches. Saw some great wrestling, all the officials looked good and overall the tournament seemed to run pretty smoothly.

One of the better matches I saw was Vito Krishke vs. JEromy MEntor of MN...MEntor was winning and vito had to come up with a last secondds takedown to win.IF this Mentor kid keeps improving watch out.
