I just got an email from my youngest sister this morning with a picture of her new baby----a 7-week old wolf named Danzig. He is half timber wolf/half Russian tundra wolf and will grow to about 90 pounds. His paws are already as big as my hand. I'll let you guys know when I hear about her mauling. . .
BTW, don't break into any houses on 55th Street in Raytown just south of the stadiums in Kansas City. Any burglar in her home will be in for a BIG surprise!!!!

That's got to be against some local laws! A wolf......would that be under a wild animal law that requires a special permit. Like those exotic animal places.
Just doesn't seem wise!
Maybe she will get on the Springer Show after she gets Mauled.

I agree w/you, I would think some permits would need to be in order. Not sure if they're in KCMO or Raytown, right on the border. They bought the wolf from a breeder, so perhaps they had to go through the permit process first. I haven't talked to her yet, all I got was an email w/a pic & a description. But I'm gonna go by there later today to see the pup so I'll get the scoop. Their neighbors raise peacocks----someone oughtta put those birds on notice that there's a new sheriff in town!

So I got the scoop. They went to Oklahoma on Friday (somewhere in the NE corner) where they knew a guy who breeds wolves. Supposedly, he has "tamed" them, except for all the training you have to do to let your new pup know you're the alpha & he's not. Never let them go in the door first, never let them walk in front of you, make them wait 10 minutes after you've started eating to feed them, wrestle them & pin them down, hold them on their back & put your hand on their stomach. . .and one day, when he's ready to become the alpha, watch your a$$. . .
Plus, the damn things eat 5 pounds of meat/day!

Here's a Cliff Claven moment....
According to Discovery channel, wolves can't be completely tamed. They are one of the few animals that could spend a large part of its life in captivity yet still survive if released into the wild. As for letting it know that you are the alpha, it will strive to become the alpha. I guess it is part of the programming of all mammals to become the "top dog (or wolf)" in what ever circles it runs in. I have a hard time believing that this animal could be "tamed" in any way. I wish your sister the best of luck.
That's all Sammy Malone.

I completely agree w/you 9ball. I was very uneasy around this critter, and he's still only a pup. I doubt I'll be visiting my sister anymore once this beast gets to adulthood. I saw a pic of its dad, and that was about the biggest damn timberwolf I've ever seen. Totally black fur with evil green eyes----I wouldn't want to meet that guy on a hike through the Appalachians!

Maybe we can make use of that over 100 pound Alaska Malamute that does nothing but eat, poop, and barks at everything.

One weekend of the WareWolf and that problem will be gone for every......

I was thinking about my next dog. A golden retriever mixed with a cocker spaniel. I don't know if this has been done, but it seems like it would be a pretty good-looking dog, medium sized and fairly intelligent.
I would imagine the breed would be called. . . drumroll please. . .
. . . golden cock.

I see a small dog with a big head that has to walk backwards so he can pull that head around. Of course, not sure how the breeding process would go.
Everyone is always asking me what would the puppies look like if my 4 pound pomerian got pregnant by Chris's 100+ pound 1/2 Lab 1/2 Malamute. I just keep telling them, it could never happen. Unless artificially done. and that isn't going to happen either.

Is insanity not genetically inherint to the gender????? :?

Ever notice how it's always the females of any species eating their young, or drowning them in the bathtub?
Denmom

I noticed it more that the female animals take care of their young while most males move on.
