Zarqawi was "blowed up".

Hillary was booed at a liberal domocratic convention.

Kerry once again changes his position on the Iraq War at that same convention.

NBC reported that the prosecutor in the Valerie Plame leak case has no evidence to bring Karl Rove to trial and that Rove was formally told that he will not face charges.

Bush administration has agreed to enter into talks with Iran in regards to their Nuclear energy program.

Bush shows up in Iraq unannounced to meet with Iraq's Prime Minister and our Troops. Both the Prime Minister and our troops were visibly "moved" by his visit.

Patrick Kennedy pleads guilty to DUI. (Seems he has a little something in common with Daddy).

Patrick Kennedy pleads guilty to DUI.

What did he blow?

What did he blow?

WASHINGTON Representative Patrick Kennedy has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of prescription drugs last month in an early morning car crash near the Capitol

-----------

District of Columbia Superior Court Magistrate Judge Aida Melendez placed the six-term congressman on supervised probation for a year. He was ordered to attend weekly meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, confer regularly with a psychiatrist, submit to random urine tests and contribute $100 to a crime victims fund and $250 to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, where he will also do 50 hours of community service.

-------------

Why does he need to go to AA for pleading guilty to DUI of scrips?

First, hooray for some Dems booing H. Clinton for being a Republican in Dem clothing.

In order to make sure RP's "fair & balanced" reporting loses some of its slant:

Baptists overthrow the fundamentalist leadership of the Southern Baptist Convention. This is a huge blow to the conservative movement. The new guy is no progressive, but he's less closely tied to the political Right at the SBC.

Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-VA) being investigated for a lobbying scandal.

Bush dumped a pile of BS in the Rose Garden this morning. His – ah – opening – err- line – ah – said it all...“I’ve just returned from Baghdad and I was inspired to visit the capital of a free and democratic Iraq.” Huh?

The Bush administration announces plans to keep hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops in Iraq for decades.

Republican Senators like Rick Santorum are found to have Spanish-language websites, while on their English-language websites they disdain the notion of ever using anything but English (which I think might make them hypocrites).

Meanwhile, dozens die throughout Iraq yesterday. Some numbers on the human toll to-date:
The human toll: U.S. military dead in Iraq, including suicides, 2,488;
U.S. military amputeed, wounded, injured, mentally ill, all now out of Iraq, 58,950;
Iraqi civilians dead, 126,990.”

The Marines are investigating a homemade music video about killing Iraqi civilians. This is what happens when troops are over-deployed, under-equipped and the tone set by the civilians in charge one of chaos, hate, and zero accountability. Sad, tragic, criminal…

I think I also heard something about 3 inmates at Gitmo commiting suicide. One would think that's pretty big news this week.

GOP leaders in New Hampshire go to trial for illegally jamming Democratic Party phone lines on election night.

Katherine Harris' chief of staff resigns (her 3rd in the last year) and Jeb Bush shows open hostility toward the woman who stole the 2000 election for his lil' bro.

And the really big news the so-called liberal media forgot to report this week is the "deal" Rove struck to get out from under indictment: he gave up Cheney. (And Rove likely still faces a civil suit from Valerie Plame.)

And before I forget, W. still hasn't caught Osama bin Laden, and last I heard OBL wasn't a "priority."

No Democrats actually called the killing of al-Zarqawi a stunt, though the RNC attempts to spread these false rumors. [The Washington Times' Headline: "Democrats Call Zarqawi Killing A Stunt," by Amy Fagan, "The Washington Times," 6/8/06)----Fagan's details gleaned from a false Republican National Committee press release]

Further, details emerge stating that Bush could have killed al-Zarqawi years ago (including a rather lengthy article in conservative stalwart the "Wall Street Journal") but left him alive to help build support for his invasion of Iraq. The end result: at least 700 dead and a home video depicting the beheading of American Nicholas Berg.

It was a dandy week indeed, don't you think RP?

PS: Fun fact of the week:

Q: Which US president financed his first political campaign largely with money he won playing poker in the U.S. Navy?

A: Richard Nixon.

Yes, a peach of a week. I had hoped that you'd agree.

I just heard, about 15 minutes ago, that the aforementioned Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-VA) had a heart attack. I wonder if the investigation into the bribery scandal hitting his office added any pressure to his ticker. Poor guy.

did anyone hear Bush's latest moron move?
While being interviewed in the rose garden or whatever it is he noticed a reporter from a west coast newspaper (LA times or something like that) wearing sunglasses, even though the sun was down. Bush made a few comments about his glasses such as "Are you going for the groovy look?" and jabbing him for wearing sunglasses

......turns out the guy was legally blind

There is one good reason for keeping this guy around, I've not laughed this much since Chevy Chase was doing Jerry Ford impersonations.

In local news, highway 40 will be shutting down soon so commuters will need an extra couple hours to get to the city.

But don't worry, Forest Parkway will be opening up to help with the congestion.

Missouri voters will now need ID's to be able to vote at the polls. You can pick up a non driver ID for free.

You also need a copy of your birth certificate or passport the next time you renew your driver's license.
