Just wondering what Brookfield's lineup will look like. I know they only finished fourth last year and with the exception of Holloway graduated the rest of their state placers. They must have a group of studs coming up as freshman or some great wrestlers who have transfered in. Does anyone know how they have improved so much?

Jay, The two best wrestlers on your list, Swift and Glasgow, based at least on what they have done on the national scene, may not even wrestle for Brookfield. Swift placed third at Tulsa Nationals two years ago and was nails at Schoolboy Duals this past summer. losing only one match and making the all tournament team. Glasgow has won Tulsa Nationals, won USA Nationals, and went unbeaten at Schoolboy Duals in 2004. Apparently Swift has transfered to Oak Grove, and and I have heard Glasgow has issues that might keep him from wrestling this year. Didn't he quit the Brookfield football team?

I have no horse in this race.
just trying to contribute what was out there.
It would be a terrible shame for him on a personal level if Jerod didn't wrestle, but I know nothing about that.

I agree. I hope my information, gossip, rumor, whatever you want to call it is incorrect. I have seen Jerod wrestle a few times at the USA Kids State Championships and he has tremendous potential.

Kansas City King must not get out of the big city very much. You may try looking at a map!!! Or watch wrestling more often

Downgrading is such a problem on this site :smt011 How could you say something like that about such an athelete. How many state medalists has Gardner beat before? Bates,Barron,Henke? i doubt we see him "Fall flat on his face :smt117 "

Shorty Longneck, Would you mind explaining how Brookfield is going to win state with only one returning placer? Even if Gardner does step up and place this year, who else is there? What might a Brookfield lineup look like? Are there any good freshman coming in? It seems to me the class one rankings from November 10 are more realistic. If enough wrestlers who didn't qualify for state last year or didn't place, can gitttteeeeerrrrrrrdooooonnnnne this year, Brookfield could finish somewhere between 8-12. That could be a big IF though. Enlighten us. What were your thoughts?
about kyle i heard if hes luck he might b back in january

Brookfield will have 1 state medalist returning and plenty of freshmen and J.V. returners that will step it up.
Should win state for sure.

Who are some of these jv people and freshman? What are their names and credentials? You've made a pretty strong assertion for a team that only returns a single placer from last year's state tournament. Several young men will have to step up to support Holloway if Brookfield is going to make a run at winning a state championship this year. I just don't see it happening. Why not back up your claim with some names and stats? Who are these mystery wrestlers who are going to perform so well this year?

Here are a few people who have helped brookfield so far. Luke Carmical (Freshman) and Austin Evans (Sophmore). Also Nick Gardner is wrestling really well, and Dakota Cashett is coming around. The top 4 ranked wrestlers in 112 were at the Trenton tourney and Wightman dropped from 119 to wrestle 112. He was ranked 5th or so at 119, of course behind tyler holloway. Carmical is wrestling extremly well and Evans is getting better and better. Those are the 5 guys that will carry the team. Wilkerson will be back soon and so will Brock lindsay.

He lost to Bridgeman---Maysville by major decision and
he lost to Kinney---Trenton by 12-15.
