It seem as if everyone is only talking about how great Branson, Nixa, and Ozark are going to be. When Willard has one of the best teams this year. I would like to hear your thoughts about this.

Willard has a great wrestling team, and I feel that they are being overlooked. They will send several to state this year.

i agree that willard has a great team, although they may not be up to par with the rest. (Ozark, Nixa, and Branson). only time will tell hopefully they will prove me wrong.

Willard does have a stronger team than we have had in the past. With only one senior on the team and a growing youth program I feel that things will only get better. The addition of Coach Fletchall should prove to be a huge plus. However, Willard still has room to grow before we can successfully go head to head with Ozark, Nixa, and Branson. I'm not saying we can't be competitive, but have lots of work to do before we can walk away with the COC. We are closing the gap and I'm very proud of all the work the boys, coaches and community is doing.

I agree Willard has a good team this year They nearly won the Bolivar Invitational and had several medal winners. Lets not forget for as much as this is a team sport there is only one kid at a time on the mat. Willard some returning state qualifiers that are off to a good start this year.

For the first time, Willard does have some upper classmen with 4 and 5 years experience. They are developing into great leaders in the practice room, which is a wonderful thing to have. We also still have some varsity wrestlers that don't have the experience, but are working hard trying to make up for lost time. We all know how difficult that is. Fortunately we do have some freshman stepping in and filling some holes. That's a tough task for freshman to wrestle varsity and be competitive, but a great experience.

I think losing such a great coach and him going to Ozark will hurt the Willard team and I think that Willard and all of the other teams will be fighting for fourth at conference behind Ozark, Nixa and Branson.

You have to beat the big dogs before you speak of beating the big dogs!

I think everyone needs to stop worring about how great other teams are and let it show in conference results.

Evidently you are nervous that these teams are going to beat you or you wouldn't even worry if other people's oppinions about other schools, if your team is that good.

You cant really say who's the best right now because it's still the begining of the season.

Besides, we wrestle to improve for state where the matches really do count.

Just wrestle.

What is it about you paranoid Branson people? You have a chip on your shoulder the size of a Baldknobbers billboard. It's not that anybody is worried about others teams or there is some great conspiracy againt Branson. I personally am just a fan of the sport and am glad to hear about succeses in every program. Lighten up people!

Just wrestle.

That says it all. We might as well shut down the boards since Brandon doesn't think people should talk about wrestling.

But back on topic, yes, Willard will beat Marshfield tomorrow night.

YoYo, I'm glad you are pleased with your replacement for the coach you lost. I hope it works out great for your program. We are very pleased with our coaching staff and look forward to continued improvement. I'm curious as to why you feel it will be a step backwords for Willard? The people involved with the program seem very happy with the situation. Maybe you know something everybody else does not. SWMO needs every team to continue to improve. When someone can come home with a team title from Columbia, then they can stick their chest out for a day. Until then, we had better keep working.

I haven't had a chance to meet the new coach at Willard but Andy did a great job your program. I knew the first coach before he came wasn't a great coach but he did step up and take the position which was a great thing to do. Andy took a program and built it and I just believe that some of the momentum will be lost, maybe im wrong but time will tell I guess. I jokingly picked Marshfield but of course your team will win. Thats an odd poll because its a class two team against a class three team and anyway a down Marshfield team. Anyway good luck this season.

Yes Andy was a good coach, but you also must rember the Team isnt all about the coach. Its about there love for the sport, we pride our selves on our spostsmenship, unlike such schools "OZARK" if anything it sould be a good home for Andy.........

Coach Jackson leads a very respectable program. His wrestlers are in shape and fundamentally sound. I have nothing but respect for how he runs his program and am sure it will remain the same. When Willard started the youth program, Coach Jackson and Coach Carter (Nixa) were very helpful. Both coaches have always invited our kids to off season open-mat sessions and camps. They realize it will do nothing but help all the wrestlers by having better local competition. Most wrestlers are tired of posting good season records and then watching the state tournament after they get knocked out after two matches.

I am sorry but the things I have said have been taken out of context, I also have the upmost respect for ozark and there wrestling team. There coach has been a great help to the wrestling world in southern missouri. I appoliagize for my comment, which has been misstaken.
thank you, Drake Rigenhagen

Willard 68 Marshfield 9

Marshfield has some young kids that look to have promise. Hopefully they can get a youth program going and start getting more numbers in there wrestling room. It's really hard to compete when they have 5 open weights.
