I was wondering if anyone knew how things went at the Marceline Tourney. Mainly interested in how Boonville did......... :)

Carr took 1st
Bieswinger 3rd
The only two I know for sure
Twenter had to wrestle Hogan, Barron, and Halloway. Lost to all of them, so I think he may have taken last. He wrestled them all three really tough.

If I remember correctly, there were no results of this tournament posted last year either. For some reason, it's very "hush hush". Not sure why. That, or those who attend can't navigate the whole "submit results" part of this website. I'm betting on the latter. <------just so everyone knows, I'm not attacking any wrestlers when I say this.
I love how people b1tch about rankings not being accurate or being late. The only way for this to happen is the get class 1 results. Not real hard to figure out.

I thought Hogan was 119lbs. I heard Morgan Brown was out with an injury. Was it Quinton Brown at 119lbs for Richmond? Did Hulett/Higg. win 140lbs? Did Neimeirer get beat by Zeikle/Higg. also.

We know everyone wants updated rankings, but we can't do that without results of class 1 tournaments and duals. If anyone has the results, please post. We know Coach Moore and Coach Doss come on here, so if they or any other coaches have the ability, please submit. Thank you.

I emailed Brian Sherrow to see if he would send me the results. I'll post them if I receive them.

103 Kellerstrauss---Cam,, Mango---Whit, Neighbors---Mar
Kemper looked very tough
112 Paalhar---Mar, Carmical---Brk, Harkins---Trn----good bracket, each had a loss, I believe
119 Just like above---Hogan, Holloway & Barron Split---Twenter & Kellerstrauss wrestled well also
125 Henke---Mar, Gardner---Brk, Mallen---Cam----here again they all split, Henke over Mallen, Mallen over Gardner, Gardner over Henke
Andrew Scharf---Whit---wrestled well too
130 Uthe---Cam, Tutt---Mob, Cashatt---Brk-----Uthe beat tutt in final 20 seconds, tutt beat cashatt 4-2, Shoemaker---Mar---wrestled very well against all three, very close
Heard Brown--Rich will be either here or 25 if back
135 Hendricks---Trn, Niemeier---Mar, Ziekle---Higg----Hendricks looked well as usual--he wins, Ziekle pinned Niemeier in a schallas in first period and also pinned Evans--Brk in headlock, Baney---Law, wrestled well too but lost to the other kids
Was told Bates---Cam will be here when back
140 Hulett---Higg, Bates-Defries---Law, Kitchen---Mob, Waldman---Whit
Not for sure on all the results here, our kid was in B bracket
I believe Hulett won out though
145 McClure---Cam, Beiswinger--Boon, Gorham---Rich
McClure is tough---i would like to see him and McClain---Platts go at it
152 Spiller---Mob, Moore---Mar, Jackson---Rich
Again, don't know score or results---our kid in B
160 Keleher---Mob, Bright---Boon, Mallen---Cam
This is where I heard Long---Higg will be when back
171 Padley---Higg, Briegel---Trn, Rosenbaum---Ham, Warren---Rich
Tough bracket, Padley looked real tough on his feet and that is where he won it. Briegel looked lots bigger and more physical, should be very tough throughout the year---
Wilkerson----Brk could be here if he is able to come back
189 Gibbs---Mob, Anderson---Trn, Meyers---Higg
Don't know any results---our kid B. Wilkerson won B bracket
215 Carr---Boon, Minks---Higg,
Disappointing day for Carr, moved up so he could see Bradley---Mar (out with shoulder injury) and Welch---Law, heard he wasn't down to weight yet-----Would have been an interesting day if we'd had them all ready
275 Simmens---Marc, Kinnison---Trn, Bailey---Cam, Fields---Rich, Wybert--Mob
Don't know for sure how this turned out but this was who all was in it. Simmens did win most of the time I saw him, looked very good, much improved.
Overall, I'd say it was a good day and a great opening day tournament, especially for Class 1. I'm sure all coaches saw good and bad things and are ready to go back to work and improve as the season goes on.
Good luck to everyone the rest of the year.

Thanks for the results Coach. Here's a question, do those in Pool A wrestle those in Pool B, and vice versa? How many matches do each wrestler get? I'm just a little confused how this was set up - the same way I believe the Lexington Tournament is put together.

Marceline is ran the same way Excelsior Springs run thiers. Everyone in Pool A round robins and everyone in Pool B round robins. If a bracet is full everyone gets 5 matches.

Modeled exactly as the Excelsior Springs Tournament. Top 6 wrestlers in each weight class go into A Pool - Next six in B Pool. Sometimes the level of wrestlers doesn't equal a 6 and 6 split. We try to keep it as even as possible. You wrestle everyone in your pool round robin and the winners are determined by overall record, then head-to-head, etc..
In a full pool you will wrestle 5 matches.
Notes from the tourney - 119 was a BRUTAL weight class Hogan, Holloway, Barron, Twenter & Kellerstrauss. Hogan got the takedown at the whistle in the third period.
125 Henke beat Mallen, who beat Gardner, who beat Henke all even in record, no winner in head-to-head, no winner by total falls, came down to toal near-falls.
130 - Was very tough, Uthe looked strong.
145 - McClure looked very good for only being out for one week.
171 - Padley named Most outstanding wrestler of the tourney. Looked very strong.
215 - Neither Welch nor Bradley wrestled but Carr looked tough.
275 - Siemens looked tough (I'm Biased), but Wybert went home with the flu before they could wrestle.
