Just a few observations from the tournament:
T. Collins had an outstanding tournament, certainly deserved outstanding wrestler
Ditto for Nick Lester, not sure why he wasn’t outstanding wrestler for the freshmen division. He totally dominated his opponent in the final.
C. Neeley, although finishing third, did not wrestle well; he did not look like the same wrestler I saw at state.
J. Swift’s semifinal match was actually the championship match; had he not separated his shoulder in that match, he would have won freshman 171
J. Pace and W. Keleher’s championship match at freshman 160 was fun to watch-two Missouri boys going for first
Neither C. Wittmeyer not T. St. Louis wrestled well in their championship matches
C. Hogan and C. Compton looked outstanding
There were a lot of great matches and Missouri kids overall had a great tournament. Seating wasn’t the best and things moved really slow on Saturday, which was good for me. Due to business, I didn’t arrive until noon.
