The NWMSU wrestling team will be competing in the NCWA Southwest Conference tournament this Sunday at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth. The top four placewinners at each weight will advance to the National tournament hosted by Grand Valley State.
The wrestlers have been putting in a lot of time and hard work in preparation. Coach Bo Rinehart has also been a great asset, and has donated many hours of volunteer time to coach the team.

Yes everyone on the team is a "walk-on." We are designated as a club sport by the university and are not an NCAA sport. Instead we are a member of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association. You can check the NCWA out at http://www.NCWA.net. However, most of the tournaments and matches we wrestle are against NCAA and NAIA teams. Hopefully in the future we will be able to offer independently funded scholarships, it just depends on the amount of fundraising we are able to do. It is a good opportunity for wrestlers to continue to compete at a higher level while helping to play an active role in building a program.
