Just to get things discussed I am taking the top 5 from most of the low weights from RETURNING STATE WRESTLERS and moving them up 1 class.I am also trying to figure out how the rosters will figure in for some teams that will be particularly tough in a string of weights. Untill weights get posted theres not much else to do. This will leave 103 open.

Zach Bintlaf (forgive me if I am spelling his name wrong) won the New Jersey state championship at least once and I think twice. He also won the Missouri USA State Champion in 2004. He defeated the incredible Bradley Wisdom in the final. He trains with Nick Purler.

I am sure Greg Lester can provide even more information on Zach. He should be ranked Number 1 at 103 and is definately my pick to give Buffalo their first state champion.

Moberly's Mike kitchen(last year SQ) is going 140 at Marceline Tourn. this weekend, and Jeff Martin(last year SQ) will be going 145, and Alonso Spiller will be going 152, Spiller did not make it to state last year but i would expect him to place this year, i watched moberly tuesday and they looked very impressive, from what people are saying they will all cut down a weight for Mexico Duals....with that kind of roster they could def. have a run for the Class 2 title

The first thing I would have to say is that it was crazy hot in the gym and I believe my HWT can make 103 by tomorrow now :D

We started at 189lbs which was the main match most people were looking forward to and a rematch between two guys who wrestled each other last year at Districts which was Johnnie Green from Republic and Danny Harrell from Buffalo. It was a very tough match and Johnnie won 5-1. Johnnie however is a 171lbs wrestler but bumped up in this dual. All of the other matches were won or lost by pin by both teams besides one tech fall at 160lbs. The final score was 56 to 24.

Besides Dakota i honestly dont know what PC looks like, I would "ASSUME" that after the football kids all get back to weight that they will have nearly all last years heavier kids in the same slots.

I'm having trouble finding individual results from Ste. Gen's duals with Whitfield and Park Hills, but I do know they dominated both teams 60-23 and 61-9. Another thing...I'm 98% sure Zach Bader will be at 160, Taylor at 171, and Tanner at 189. I thought I saw you have Bader at 152. Will try and find out more names with correct weightclass.

I want to say again that Michael Merritt from Monett will be at state. He pinned his first opponent from Branson in 47 seconds. Also Kellen Bonous will be in the thick of it at State. He is a multi state champion in the little leagues.

Adam Johnson from SG wrestled at 135 yesterday, and Johnny Vogt (yea, there's another one) is at 152, Bader at 160, Huck at 171, and Wolk at 189.

Both Mike McGee from John Burroughs and Devin Stine from Clayton, who were state qualifiers last year at 171, seem to have been overlooked in these rankings. We have some good wrestlers in the St. Louis area, too.

GEEZ Walter,,, I thought all areas of the state were prepresented well throughout my list ,before you take this as a slight you might (MAYBE) ask a question. MAYBE they were just overlooked, as in this case they were since i was combining 2 diffrent weights, but rest assured they will be on the next update.

these prelininary rankings are all good and fine, but several wrestlers are missing and several will change weight classes.
try and remember that c2rankingsforfun are just that.
I am sure the official ranking committee is keeping an eye on c2s lists and taking into consideration all comments, and results from this past week.
Unless the ranking comittee calls every coach before the season and gets confirmation of weight classes and injuries, it would be inneffective to post an official ranking earlier than the 2nd week of the season. I don't think the official ranks for Class 1, 3 or 4 are out yet.

ZZ, actually Bainbridge SHOULD have had an extra week of practice over St. Louis due to Odessa getting beat in football by Pleasant Hill. With two competitors that close that is a HUGE advantage. But they will be meeting atleast 2 times before state. St. Louis still has the head to head advantage i do believe, but correct me if i am wrong. It will be fun to watch either way.

One last thing on my list,,,St. Louis/Bainbridge,,,I nearly tied them at 1st they have beaten each other now, but i had to give the #1 to St. Louis because he is the returning state champ and does have the head to head advantage.
Monteith/Fowler
I nearly tied this one also, gave Monteith the advantge for state results last year, though Fowler just did miss medals. BOTH are ALL-Americans with National Placements and National Rankings it should be a great match to watch if they meet up. It looks like Monteith just went down to 145 giving up a top 2 or 3 seed for a top 2, doesnt make much sense to me to cut the weight especially if Yust is injured. Need to confirm if he is going to stay or go back up, did he go down just to wrestle Kiiedon Stephens or not?

I cant possible conceive of putting a STATE 2nd down under kids that only made it to Cr 2, cr3 or lower MEDALS this early in the season. That would make no sense at all. Consider Fowler has only had 3 -5 matches on the season and is undefeated. No i think my list stays as is for now. Changes can be made later if necessary but i cant see doing that right now.

you have to take rankings with a grain of salt when a kid comes out of a 103 bracket . sometimes 103 is very tough but not very deep. that is how i would describe last years bracket. Fowler is going to have to beat some ranked wrestlers before he has a legitemate hold on a top ranking at any
weight.with the kids that are at 112 i would put him at 4 , 5, or 6 maybe at best . what do you think bob?

I would add Johnnie Green from Republic back to 189lbs he is 6-0 this year and he won the Bolivar tournament and was a state qualifier last year at 171lbs. Thanks!

Ph, the way i look at it some of the ranked (OR UNRANKED) kids will have to beat Fowler to take over the #1 spot. He earned it with a 2nd place finish last season, against the kids (THAT I KNOW OF) that are in his weight bracket now. Untill then i think its his to keep (or loose).
