Earlier in the season I am pretty sure there was a thread with a link to operating budget amounts for each program. Could someone please re-post those links? Thanks.

slug through this link for a bit and you'll see that CMSU has a higher operating budget than MU. Somebody's getting a little (actually a lot) less bang for their buck. Truman seems to be doing pretty well for 19K. In fact, I think the only team I noticed in Missouri that was less than truman was MoBap.

Kevin, interesting site! I don't think these #'s are anywhere close to right or at least compare apples to apples.

Some examples. Iowa Wrestling is listed at 230,000, OK State 190,000 , CMSU around 120,000, Truman 20,000. I know for a fact that the coaches salarys alone at Iowa are 190-200,000. Then consider a full ride out of state costing 20,000. ten of those would be 200,000. Add travel meals recruiting, office help (they have a full time adm asst and clerical help) and you end up at twice this #.

I don't have the exact #'s but I would say we are opperating at less than 1/2 of the number that's posted for CMSU.

Truman's # seems very low. I hope Coach Schutter makes at least that # for his salary. Estimate 6 tournaments at 1500 each that's an other 9000.
2 scholarships at 10,000 = 20000. Regional and National tournament travel, room and Board = 10,000 (two long trips), You guys are probally nearly the same as we are.

The one difference may be that we have raised the extra schollarship $.

Minnesota is listed at 110,000

MU is 116,000

I can tell you guys right now, there is no way we are even close to the number posted. Given the same resources as MU, which is listed as having a budget below ours, we should have:

9.9 scholarships
2 fulltime asst. coaches

these two things alone could add up to well over 100,000

I think that the way schools go about their accounting for title 9 has more to do with these #'s than anything else.

Maybe those numbers include Ersland's popcorn and buffett expenses?

Coach Hull,

I really don't know HOW accurate these numbers are. I have been told this number is the budget for travel, entry fees, uniforms., etc. IT DOES NOT include coaching salaries.

I do know that Schutter wasn't even considered a full time employee of the university until very recently, which meant that he received NO benefits.

And I know for a fact that even Iowa's budget could not cover Ersland's buffet expenses. Or the glasses he obviously needed but did not have while reffing the District tournament at Blue Springs. He $UCKS. Just my humble opinion. :smt019
