Just curious, how did Carr get the 2 seed?

I am not sure as 215 was a crazy weight class with like 6 kids involved in seeding, using common opponent criteria or coin flips happened in many weight classes in this district. At one point 6 coaches were on the board reading and counting opponent totals. The #1 seed is also undefeated this year as well.

Bise 30-0 and gets 2nd seat at 152?????? McDonald ,3rd ranked, and Padley ,#1 ranked, seated behind Wulff HM at 171???

See Pollock's thread in Wrestling On-Topic as he goes through seeding criteria there. Quickly what happens in seeding is
1. Head to Head Competion
2. Record vs. Common Opponents
3. 10% winning percentage advantage
4. Coin Flip
Like I stated earlier this district was full of counting common opponent criteria and even many coin flips. Great thing about wrestling is that in the end you always decide the real winners on the mat

Bise 30-0 seated second, still don't understand the criteria! Mcdonald only has 2 loses and I don't know Padleys record. Wont they end up on the same side of the braquet at State now?

ya, the seeding for 171 is pretty ridiculous. Padley is the returning state runner up w/ a 36-3 record, and none of his losses are to class 1 wrestlers. Plus, Higginsville's schedule is a little tougher than Adrian's and Fatima's. Oh well, I'm sure Padley saw that and just laughed.

At 171 there was a 3 way race for the 1st seed, I think it all came down to a coin flip.
at 152 Walker & Bise had 2 common opponents they each pinned and decisioned seperate kids the Buffalo 152 and Matthews from Diamond
Walker decisioned Buffalo and Bise Pinned him
Bise decisioned Matthews and Walker Pinned him
therefor they both were tied in common opponents
they had no head to head competions so on to record 30-0 is 100% winning percentage, 19-1 is 95% winning percentage, therefor no 10% difference in winning percentage. So on to coin flip which Walker won. Once again as for 171 there were 3 wrestlers up for seed and I do not remember how that one turned out is was more complex but pretty sure it was a coin flip. All the kids Padley, McDonald, Wulf, Walker & Bise are good wrestlers good luck to all them at a pretty tough district.

here's another odd bracketing situation.....140:
Hulett (Hig) 35-3
bye
bye
Kiesel (Fat) 15-14
Hough (Adr) 18-10
bye
bye
Moore (War) 20-10
Jackson (KN) 16-17
bye
bye
Meyer (Ver) 11-14
Clark (But) 9-21
bye
bye
Beiswinger (Boon) 11-15
....notice that the top half have winning records, and the bottom half all have losing records? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Now you can see why, the 3+ hour seeding meeting. It can down to several coin tosses on several weights. And the coin toss did not always fall the way many wanted. We will just have to do it on the matt....as always! Once again, Good Luck to All Wrestlers.

Is this a test or a joke?
Just kidding Oldtimer. They will take several. Long at 160 and Padley at 171 are the favorites to win the state championship. As a team, they will most likely place in the top 5 and could possibly win it with a great tournament.

More of a Joke than a test!!! Wanted to see who screamed the loudest! No offense meant. A long time ago......Higginsville gave me fits.
Glade to hear they are doing well and will have a go showing at State! How did they do last night.

Congrats on all the wrestlers who qualified. There was some very good matches thoughout this tournament, best were probably McDonald v. Padley in the semi's and Bise v. Walker in the finals. The wrestling in this District was pretty tough as good as many sectionals I have seen in Class 1 or 2 in the past. Sure there was no Oak Parks here but there were many quality matches.

I thought it was a great tournament...thanks to all who made it great. Congrats to Higginsville and Knob Noster for their well earned trophies!! I thought there was a strong showing from a number of schools. I am not concerned with what teams were not at this district, I saw some terrific wrestling from some outstanding teams, and I hope District two kicks everyones tail at State!
As for the fans whinning about the seeding, please forward all complaints to Dale Pleiman at MSHSHAA or whoever is responsibe for the seeding criteria, as it was followed to the letter. It is there so coaches don't have to decide on who is more deserving between a 30-0 and a 29-1, wrestling different schedules. As has been said before, it all comes out in the wash. One thing the State does not care about is a wrestlers last name or what they did at state last year. We had some upsets at the D-2 tournament, some based on seeding anomalies, and some from kids just stepping up and getting it done! Either way, congrats to all who qualified...you earned it, and condolances to those who came up short. Isn't this all a part of why we love this sport?
Well Said Coach Bo. Great Job to you and your school for putting on a Great District. Good Luck to you and your Wrestlers at State.....See you Thursday!!! Again Great Job!

The 215 bracket was stacked to the max i think there about two guys in that whole bracket that weren't ranked, the rest were ranked, 5 being in the top 6 at one time or another 1Carr, 5Williams, 6Hughes, HM Teeman, and 4Minks. Any guy in that weight class was state level and i hope that everyone in that bracket knew that.
